One day I was at church and my cousin came and brought me some photos that made me begin to think. Think about the fact that I was already prepared to be speaker, to be a mentor and to be a leader. This time in my life wasnt the best because i was soooooo rebellious. Let me share a little story with you about the church girl. Growing up I would always be upset when my mom would volunteer me to do yet another poem, read another scripture, usher another sunday, or participate in a saturday YPD'er event . All i wanted to do was hang with my friends outside and watch cartoons on tv right? Sometimes i got so frustrated that i would just frown, and pout the entire time i was there. Sometimes i would just sit to myself and wait for someone to ask me what was wrong so i just yell out "I DONT WANT TO BE HERE"!!! I knew if i did that my mom would beat the living day light out of me lol...... So needless to say all of the those things that my mom made me do back then was simply preparation for the woman that i have become today. When i look back I am so thankful for the push and I definitely wouldn't trade my mom for anything the world lol but i really wouldnt trade the experience! Girls embrace the experience that your parents are sending you through. As i said its just preparation for greater success in your future!
